What happens with what you share
You're about to answer some personal questions. It seems only fair to be exact about what happens next.
- What you tell us
- Your answers to the questions, and — only if you give them — your name and email address.
- Kept apart
- Your answers are stored under a research ID. Your name and email live separately and are not needed to use the research.
- Why
- To understand how adults build connection, to build your own profile back for you, and — only where and as you agree — to share that information with the people or events you choose to share that with.
- Who can see it
- The researcher (Laura Smith). If you choose to share your information to an event or group, organizers of it only see the parts you ticked to share. Nothing is shown to other participants unless you turn on a share link yourself. The generated public summary you can share as you see fit.
- Sensitive answers
- Questions about identity, health, faith or circumstances are optional, can always be skipped, and are never displayed publicly.
- Access needs
- Stored apart from anything used for matching and visible only to the person arranging the event or thing you applied to and choose to share your information with.
- Introductions
- Any suggestion that two people might get on is based solely on the information provided and not vouch of personal character or safety. Nobody is ever shown information about you that you have not specified to share.
- How long
- Answers are kept while the research runs, then deleted or anonymised. Anonymised, aggregated findings may be written about publicly — never in a way that identifies you.
- Your choices
- From your own answers page you can read, change, download or delete everything, withdraw from any application, and switch off a share link. Deletion is honored within 30 days.
Asking for deletion
Reply to any email from us, or write to Laura through UPWARD (contact@workupward.com), and say you'd like your answers removed. You don't need to give a reason.
